Review: Armada Hotel Manila

In celebration of the New Year, we (I) decided to relax and spare myself from all the stress in preparing such as cooking, etc. I searched online but most of the hotels that I want for the night were in full house that night. I had to consider my kids, too, thus a pool AND a tub were the major points to look at. Luckily, I found Armada through Travelbook and got a Premium Room for only around P4,500. Published rate was P7,500 for that room type while online booking through their site was around P5,500. So, here's my review.

The surrounding area was not errm "wholesome." Since it is in Malate, the surroundings were sort of Manila's red light district. Working girls were everywhere. But, hey, it wouldn't matter since we were up in our room.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by the guard. Parking was a mess. There wasn't an available slot, we were informed. Temper would have had me, but the guard was very courteous and had a respectful, smiling face. We had no choice but to avail of street parking. The hotel should consider, though, that parking slots should be at par with the number of rooms that they offer.

Upon checking in, front desk people were very courteous, too. I requested that the two queen beds be placed side by side for our kids safety. They politely obliged. When we entered the room, it was smelling fresh and clean. I love the wooden floors, too. It is a plus if you're checking in with kids. The beds are clean, they had an LED TV, a single couch, side tables, a working desk. The mini bar had electric kettle, mini refrigerator, 2 complimentary bottles of water, 2 coffee, creamer and sugar packs. There have no junkies like what the usual mini bars have, which was good since my kids will definitely drool on chocolates and chips if there were. Though I came prepared and did my grocery on snacks the day before, bringing with me a box of chips, chocolates and juices.

Inside the bathroom, it was clean. It had a tub, bidet, hair dryer, tissue and complimentary toiletries. There had a minor problem with the bathroom door and room service was very quick to fix it. Kudos to customer service! 😊 What I didn't like was the tub. It looked clean, but had a stinky smell. 😞
The pool was located at the rooftop and was nice, too, but didn't have heater. Great for summer!

Breakfast was just fine. It came with the usual american food but had limited choices. I like the omelette/waffle guy. He was very patient despite so many orders coming his way.

Checkout was fast and easy, too. Overall, I give it a 3.5. Will I be coming back? Maybe.
