Food Review: Five Cows

Last Tuesday, my son and I went shopping at Trinoma. Before doing so, he requested for ice cream. We tried out Five Cows. Five Cows is definitely heaven for kids and those with sweet tooth! They have a wide array of ice cream choices, pizza, pasta and rice meals.

We ordered:

Bubble Gum Blast (P110)
Rocky Almond Slice (P160)

Roni Pepperoni (P195)

Subtotal is P465 and is still subject to tax and service charge. We ended up at P506.32. Pricey, right?

I like the taste of Bubble Gum Blast, but, being the chocoholic that I am more in love with the Rocky Almond Slice ice cream cake. But for the pizza, it didn’t satisfy my taste. Also, I can’t grasp their idea on their set-up. I think they want to settle on a country style feeling but it doesn’t appeal to me. Notice how modern the restaurant name is but the chairs and tables don’t go well with it. As for the service, it is okay.

Anyway, if asked if I will go back? There may be a  chance because of  their ice cream cakes..and because of the drooling look in my son's face. See below!

UP Fight

I am glad that the UP Pep Squad won the Samsung UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2010! It's nice to win back the trophy as Champion. UP may not be blessed when it comes to athletic division (e.g. basketball) but the the Pep Squad certainly had the UP FIGHT roar!

Kudos and I wish you'll bag more championship trophies ahead!

New Work, New Beginning

I just can't help but feel excited because tomorrow is Day 1 of my new work. For years, most of my jobs were involved in Sales, at other times with Customer Service. I worked as a medical representative, a call center agent, call center officer, account manager and a home-based transcriptionist. I even had part-time jobs during my college days.

To sum it up, that would mean around eight years of working. Whew! So, I guess now, you're doing the math about my age, right? LOL.

I know there is something wrong with me as I keep on getting uncontented with what I'm doing. I even researched Gemini's personality and found this. Disclaimer: It is true for me but may not be true for other fellow Geminis.

"It is difficult even for them to understand what they want to achieve. At heart they are ambitious for social position; but when obtained they have already tired of it, and are ready to go in for something else or for something totally opposite."

So, is it just me or am I only justifying this attitude. Good thing there's GirlTalk of Femalenetwork. I found this board and you might be interested. It's about fellow posters who despite their age, still do know what they want in life. You might want to check it out.

For now, I really wish that my new job is the one that I've been looking for so long. It is still with sales and I'm going back to the pharmaceutical industry. (Yey!) So, I'll keep my fingers and wish me luck to this new endeavour! ♥♥♥

Reaching up to a new me ( and down the scales)

There! I created a new page dedicated solely for my weight loss journey. I guess it's a good start, right? That way, I am able to share what I'm going through as I begin to work my way on losing the extra pounds. My post pregnancy "extra" weight is no longer an excuse. My son is 6 years old and that should be looooong gone, I know.

First off, I would like to dig further on what went wrong, err, what IS going wrong now.
1. I used to work out, and I am talking about hard core working out back in college. I jogged "almost" daily if my schedule permits and worked out three times in a week. Now, I always say I'm busy balancing work and family. (IKR?)
2. I love sweets and I'm having a big share of rice during meals as well.
3. I am not much of a veggie eater.
4. I suspect I have PCOS and I need to have a check up with my OB.

What to do?
1. Have a simple exercise stint such as Taebo for a start.
2. Buy a Jillian Michaels video as inspirted by Traveliztera
3. Eat what I like but in moderation.
4. Slowly incorporate veggies in my meal.
5. Have a talk with my OB.

For now, this is my list. I will update this as I realize what my health mistakes are alongside with the solutions that I will do to achieve my goal.

Makeup Review: Art Deco Eyeshadow Base

I am a big fan of eyeshadows but that doesn't end there. One must have a reliable and efficient eyeshadow base or primer to go with it. This goes especially for those with oily lids like mine.

I use an expensive brand to make my shadows last long but it is making a big damage to my wallet. Then, I was introduced to Art Deco Eyeshadow Base, which is actually half the price of what I have been using. So, what I did was go to the nearest drugstore and bought one.

It comes in a cute, little packaging; a small, black jar which is pleasing to the eyes. But hygiene wise, it's a no-no, since you have to dip your fingers in the jar every so often. It will be best to use a spatula or take out a small amount out and place it in your hand and work your way there.

Then came the road test. The product is creamy when applied to the eyelids but it has a slight pearl color. That goes good for my shimmery eyeshadows as it makes the color pop out, making it more pigmented. However, it doesn't go well with my matte eyeshadows if I intend to keep them that way. With the pearl color the cream comes with, my my matte eyeshadows goes out as shimmery! I don't think that would be a good idea if you're applying day makeup or one that should be used in the office.

Months after, the creamy base is no longer creamy. It hardened and became difficult to apply. It cakes up, too, at times. In short, it was no longer of use to me even if the jar is still half-full. So the price is not worth it after all since I am unable to use up the product. Will I buy again? No.
